FACTORIES OF TOMORROW – OFFICINE M.T.M. S.P.A. DELIVERED THE THIRD TUBE MILL TO ACIER FATI STEEL - CANADA

The global engineering Company MTMGroup and his branch Officine M.T.M. S.p.A has  delivered the third complete new tube mill to ACIER FATI STEEL Inc, the most technologically  advanced and innovative steel tube producer in Canada. This is the second complete tube  mill designed and supplied by MTM in North America during this year thanks also to the  long-term partnership in USA with Kent Corporation OH.

ACIER FATI STEEL Inc has invested to add a complete new tube mill into the existing plant in  Varennes, Quebec, Canada, and to enlarge its product portfolio. Currently, the Varennes  division serves the needs of the automotive, agriculture, appliance, building and  construction, energy and machinery industries.

Officine M.T.M. S.p.A’ scope of supply includes the design, supply and commissioning of the  complete third mill of ACIER FATI STEEL Inc, from entry coil handling to tubes forming, welding, orbital cutting and automatic packaging, that will be capable to produce max OD  168,3mm x WT 7,1mm. The advanced line will be dedicated to produce unexposed steel  grades, as well as other commercial and specialized steel grades.

The partnership between the Companies began in 2009, when ACIER FATI STEEL Inc  contracted Officine M.T.M. Spa to start its tube business adding ERW tube production to  their portfolio of products and services. Having no experience in producing tubing, FATI  needed more than just a machinery, they needed a supplier that would help them not only  in providing the tube-making equipment, but in a partner that could also provide with  proficient training in transferring the technical know-how on the production of high-quality  tubing. ACIER FATI STEEL Inc decided on Officine M.T.M. Spa and now, due to the incredible  success of the first and the second mill installed in 2015, has purchased their 3rd MTM line  to keep up with their current production demands.
